Pallets in Photoshop can be customized, for example you can reorganize them and regroup them with other pallets.
When you first start using Photoshop you will be shown the default arrangements of these pallets, and you might find that your not comfortable working with the default arraignments. For instance when your working with allot of layers the default arrangement of the layers pallet will only have enough room to show you 5 or 6 layers before you have to start scrolling that list., so you may want the layers pallet to be much taller to see more layers......
